At 1pm on Saturday, April 12th in Union Sq., participants received
a list of tasks to be performed,
and armed with only a digital camera and a metrocard,
teams scoured the NYC Subway and race to be the first to complete
25 tasks.
Each team gathered sponsors prior to the hunt and we raised a
total of $1500!
We convened at Julep in
the East Village, to swap stories and subway hilarity.
Some fun facts:
Along the route, not one person could catch a rat on camera, but everyone was
able to procur a religious leaflet.
Almost everyone was able to find an animal on the train,
but no one could locate the MTA vending machine behind the turnstile
Finding a man in a suit on a Saturday was easy,
while only one team could find someone riding the subway for the first time.
And no one found all five police stations underground
(for future reference, they are marked on the subway map with a blue shield).
All proceeds will go to benefit Coffee Cup (a theatre co.) and
their upcoming show: STANDING CLEAR.
Thank you to all our participants:
